Benalla is a small town in rural Victoria close to the snow fields of Mount Buller and Mount Buffalo and the gourmet region of the Northeast Victoria. The lake at Benalla was formed in 1974 by the damming of the Broken River and is one of the main attractions in Benalla. The Benalla Art Gallery has some had some great exhibitions of well known artists from local, state and Australian background while the Benalla Performing Art Centre and the Gliding club of Victoria is holding the World Gliding Competition in 2017. Benalla is a great place to base yourself when wanting to visit the Northeast Victoria as it is close to most attractions, wine, wetlands & motorsports just to name a few. Spend a weekend or a week and I am sure you will only have scratched the surface of the region.
