Located in Port Phillip Bay, 5-km from Melbourne’s centre, Port Melbourne is a diverse suburb with a rich history. A busy port for travellers and goods during the gold rush, it has retained its sense of history with old buildings co-existing next to modern living. The foreshore is well used by locals and visitors, taking advantage of the bayside, cycle tracks, yachting and is home to the 109-tram and Spirit of Tasmania. Whilst industry is still a major part of Port Melbourne, an abundance of pubs, restaurants, café’s, street art and shopping caters to young and old.
