Richmond, an inner Melbourne suburb, home to factories converted into offices or over-priced flats, working class cottages nestled amongst terrace houses and high rise housing commission flats. There are three major shopping areas that supported mostly factory outlets but many shops are now empty and the iconic Dimmeys is now Coles. Victoria Street, (Little Saigon) continues to flourish mainly from the Vietnamese who were housed in the commission flats. Richmond is a transport hub with 7 rail lines and 4 different tram routes, the Corner Hotel has been a music mecca since 1995, and the laneways attract much street art.
