Take the Newell Highway south, and as you travel between Dubbo and Parkes, if you take a left just before Tomingley onto the Obley road, then pass by Goobang National Park, before taking a quiet turn on an unsealed road shortly before reaching Obley, you will see my tree. I don’t own it, of course, how could I? It sits in a farmer’s field, and I am only a visitor revelling in an opportunity to wander through this landscape. Yet this tree, near Obley, in the mid west of NSW, is my tree. May I share it with you?
